New Carpet at Last
Here are some before and after pictures.
I got new carpet-- I guess you could say for Valentines Day since it was laid the day before.
I don't really care, I'm just glad to finally get rid of that old, old, 80's style carpet that was pretty YUK!!

Another Bubble Cake.

Well I'm trying it again. Today seemed like a good day to try another bubble cake. One thing I noticed as I read the recipe is that I forgot to include the raising time for the cake after it was in the pan. Anyway, I went back and corrected that omission. I hope no one has tried out this recipe yet, because allowing the dough to raise in the pan before baking is very important!

My next project, when I feel up to it, is perfecting a pie crust recipe. If that ever happens I'll be sure to post pictures. (I will also have to psych myself up for Al's criticism!!! he! he! he!)

One thing I learned when the second grandchild was born.....It's okay to gain weight because you need a bigger lap.

Gourmet club met tonight

Tonight's menu included filets, bacon wrapped aspargus, green salad with everything in it, baked potato, home made French bread and angel food cake with strawberries for dessert.
