Wedding Reception

We went to a wedding this weekend, and wouldn't you know it, I didn't even get a picture of the bride and groom. However, I got lot's of the kids.

Here's to my friends in Boca Chica. I am having trouble uploading some pictures. Sorry I don't have more. Hopefully, I'll get some of the pictures from other team members. With me working on the construction crew, I didn't get many pictures of the kids or Caminate employees.
Shannon, if you're reading this I just want to thank you and Caminate for being such great hosts and such a great group to work with. We all agree that our experience in Boca Chica was awesome! Thanks for all that you did and good luck to you as you finish your work in Boca Chica and have a safe trip back to the state in April.

Hola from Boca Chica, Dominican Republic,

It´s Friday morning and I´ve been here all week on a mission trip. This is our last day with Caminate, the organization we´re helping. We are handing out clothes and shoes and hygiene kits this morning and then going to Santo Domingo this afternoon.

It´s been a great week. I helped with construction. We worked at a school building that had been donated to Caminate. It needs way more work than what we could do in a week, but we did get the cement wall repaired, the inside of the wall painted and some bookshelves made.

When I get home I´ll post a bunch of pictures so you all can see what it is like down here. Hopefully, by Monday night you´ll be able to see lots of pictures. Some of me working even!!!

The weather´s been great! 85 degress, sunny, and a cool breeze in the shade.

Saturday, March 25

Woke up to the rain pouring down. That lasted about 10 minutes and now it is even more humid. We are going to spend the day at the beach today, hopefully. Then, this evening we are going to have a little going away party here at the hotel with some of the staff from Caminate we worked with this week. Will have to get up about 4 AM to get to the airport in morning. Can't wait to get some pictures posted.

What a weekend!!!

Jan and the grandkids were here this weekend. Kept me busy. Can't believe how much they've grown. Katy's here for a couple of days now with grandpup, Chloe. Katy had some bad luck. The severe weather over the weekend did some damage to her car. She lives in north KC and either a tornado or a REAL BIG WIND blew a tree down not only on the house but also the back end of her car. Anyway, the rear end of her car was pretty much demolished. Thank goodness no one was hurt. She is driving a rental. Nothin' fancy, but it's new and she was able to come on down for a visit.
